Technology Centre Gaya Ji: MSME Sector Gets a Major Boost in Bihar, Foundation Stone Laid by Jitan Ram Manjhi and Samrat Choudhary

In a significant step towards strengthening Bihar’s industrial ecosystem and promoting skill development, Union Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi and Bihar Chief Minister Shri Samrat Choudhary laid the foundation stone for a state-of-the-art Technology Centre (TC) at Khizarsarai, Gaya Ji on Monday.

The ceremony began with a traditional Bhoomi Pujan, marking the commencement of a landmark project that is expected to transform the MSME landscape of southern Bihar. Senior officials from the Ministry of MSME, Bihar Government representatives, industry leaders, and local stakeholders attended the event.
₹170 Crore Investment for Industrial Growth

The upcoming Technology Centre will be developed with a total investment of ₹170 crore, including ₹86 crore for civil infrastructure and ₹84 crore for advanced machinery and equipment.

General Engineering
Heavy Engineering
Textile Testing
It will provide modern technology support, testing facilities, tooling services, and skill development opportunities for MSMEs.
7,000 Youths to Receive Training Every Year
Addressing the gathering, Union MSME Minister Shri Jitan Ram Manjhi said the Technology Centre will provide technological support not only to Bihar but also to neighbouring states. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of establishing technology-driven centres across the country to empower entrepreneurs and industries.
He stated that the centre is expected to train around 7,000 trainees annually, creating new avenues for employment and entrepreneurship.

Bihar Moving Towards Self-Reliance
Chief Minister Shri Samrat Choudhary described the project as a matter of pride for Bihar and thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for expanding the Technology Centre network across the nation.
He emphasized that the MSME sector is generating substantial employment opportunities and strengthening the foundation of Atmanirbhar Bharat (Self-Reliant India). He urged the youth of Bihar to embrace technology and skill development to contribute to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.
Support for More Than 1,000 MSMEs Annually
Secretary, Ministry of MSME, Shri Bharat Khera, informed that Technology Centres and Extension Centres are being established across various states and Union Territories. Following the recent inauguration of the Patna Technology Centre, the Gaya Ji centre marks another major milestone.

Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner, MSME, Dr. Rajneesh, presented an overview of the MSME sector’s growth and the expected impact of the Gaya Ji Technology Centre on Bihar’s industrial development.

The facility aims to support over 1,000 MSMEs annually through tooling services and job work, helping local industries improve productivity, innovation, and competitiveness in domestic and international markets.

The Technology Centre is expected to become a major driver of industrial growth in the historic Magadh region, bridging technology gaps, integrating local MSMEs into global supply chains, and creating new opportunities for skilled employment.
